spending some time here in Yellowstone - managed to get in the right place at the right time to get some up close Grizzly bear shots - they are always a challenge to get good shots without ruffling the feathers of the park rangers or getting into an unsafe position - it is easier to shoot lions and leopards in Africa than bears in Yellowstone

1 for me is best. Great exposure. Its hard to get the dark grizzly balanced with the bright background and light.

We will be there in August. Any specific spots that we should go to for shots like these? Hayden Valley and Lamar Valley are of course high on our list.

I'm jealous. Theo only time I've gotten that close was a dry year and the grass and foliage was brown.
I've often wondered how the rangers know where to show up so quickly.
