Today was a national holiday - Queen's birthday - us Canadians will celebrate anything if it gets us a day off work. This is traditionally the beginning of spring/summer in Alberta where people can now plant their gardens (although it snowed saturday).

My first grizzly sighting in Kananaskis Park this spring. Unfortunately he was collared so hopefully I chose the pictures that were most flattering

It was very early and the iso's were high and I was tempted to just watch but I tried pictures anyway. Luckily the 5d3 can perform in the dark. And he wandered off so I would have missed him otherwise.

Excuse the excessive postings but its been awhile since I saw a grizzly with winter (since Nov).

Very nice images at such high ISOs. The wary look in the eyes makes the first three very compelling, and a grizzly is always fearsome and interesting.
