Long time no see, I won't bore you with the details... suffice it to say it was much needed therapy to get out shooting on a couple of beautiful days here in SoCal last week.

These are from San Joaquin Wildlife Sanctuary, Bolsa Chica Wetlands, and the Santa Ana River about a mile from my home.

Thanks for looking at what I really love to do. This wonderful passion we share for nature and wildlife photography is incredibly good for the soul.

What a great collection of flight shots, and speedy little devils at that. But that merganser taking off is just the bomb. Great work.

I'm new here but I get the sense it's been a while? Welcome back, lovely variety. The Cinnamon Teal caught my eye, love the reddish/green palette.

Thanks so much Fred, really appreciate it. I was lucky on the Mergie... I was shooting the Egret hunting and heard the Mergie blast-off to my left and managed to get locked on her right away.

Now that is the way to come back out of hiding. Great set and what a variety. I don't really want to pick a favourite but I think I like the mallard take off best.

You'd think the Cinnamon would draw Tim K our of hibernation

Lots to be proud of here Kirk.
Special merit to the wonderful character in the BCNH image. The exposure is wonderful, the BG is deceiving in its darkness but the foil like reflections that fill the underwings and sheen on the body are quite wonderful here. Brightness and darkness all came together well here IMO, I like it

Perfect comp on the Red Breasted speedster, sweeeeet one buddy!

#10 Woodster is amazing, just enough pattern in the BG and the reverse of light BG to dark subject coloring is great on separation, beauty in flight my friend

Glad to see you got a day to yourself to restore the inner kharma
