A very rainy, misty day provided nicely saturated colors and the glistening moisture on the gravels (which were thus very slick). Moisture on the lens was a challenge.

Thanks for looking.

Great image Tim. The Falls is beautiful!

A little comment: polarized reflections on the gravel surfaces in the foreground seem a bit distracting to me. Did you use the CPL when you shot this or you intentionally let those gravels be shinny?

Neither. I neglected to use the polarizer, and I did what I could to reduce the reflections in post. I agree the image would be much better had I used a polarizer.

Thanks for your comment.

Hey Tim,

Yeah... your polarizer is like your best friend, don't leave home without it. Especially shooting up there with the waterfalls and all that foliage. I think if this was mine and I had all those reflections I would simply crop off the bottom of the shot where the worse reflections are.

Even with the reflecting light, this is a nice shot. Another thought, have you thought about trying B&W on this? Perhaps that look might help mask the reflecting light?

Jim
