I love the title. Very applicable. I never grow tired of seeing the amazing rock and geological formations in the USA. I like what you've done with the processing on the land. I feel like the sky is a bit dark though. Particularly the top left (this might be my crappy monitor at work though, apologies if this is the case).
Hi Cam, thanks so much! I am glad you like the shot here. As for the sky, and the upper left, I purposely darkened it that much as I adjusted the sky, so hopefully it looks better on your monitor at home.

Another great shot Jim. I need you to stop posting these or I'm going to have to get into my truck and head out there for myself! Very cool comp.
Ha ha... thanks Steve! I am glad you have liked the shots, and yes, you need to head out there! Get your truck gassed up.

Hey Jim, I dig it. I like the way the comp starts strong in the bottom right and fades diagonally up towards the left. The light direction mimics this same pattern, which provides a nice flow to the image. The colors are really quite beautiful ... love the blues in the sky but particularly the blue shadows. I do find the upper left and bottom left corners to be vignetted a bit too much, and would bring those up a touch. I also might crop away some of the left, like 20-30 pixels just a tiny touch. Overall a really well done image though!...Show more →
Hey Chris, I am glad you like the shot! I am not a big fan of vignetting either, and I didn't add any here, I just pulled down the midtones to emphasize the natural lighting of the scene. I appreciate the thought on the crop, I will have to look at.
Thanks!
