Thanks Geoff...you know how hard it is to get good shots with no light...we were lucky to have some time in a clearing allowing for faster shutter speeds and lower iso's

Thanks...lots of garbage bin shots too of branches and leaves...but I was pretty happy with what I got...it is really more about the experience than the images in this case.

You have just confirmed why this trip is on my bucket list. These primates are just amazing. I am always enthralled when I see them at the zoo, so I can only imagine your excitement to get the chance to photograph them in their natural environment.

Very nice series. About avoidance of eye contact, i remember seeing videos of the late Diane Fossey doing her research and she was so close to the gorillas, but she pretended to be nibbling away at some vegetation and avoiding eye contact. A charging Silverback screaming and thrashing through the thickets is a real scary sight to behold.

thanks so much Brian...yes this is something to put on your list...but don't wait too long...only 800 left and with habitat dwindling, there is no telling how long they will last

Thanks Dave...yes the adventure getting to them often trumps the hour you get to spend with them...it's not your typical walk in the local woods.

Hi Eric, I would not have known this from your description, sounded as it was a real tough trek. I'm booking my tickets now... (well at some point - I hope). I really had no idea the porters would do all that. Chuck
