I have been planning a trip into Yosemite for a few weeks now. A big task since I live in Alaska. My first trip in so I have been doing the research, I even bought the ipad app from Michael Frye. I got on here last week and asked a few questions and Jim Fox had changed what I thought would be a good plan. I was going to Cathedral beach for the sun rise and Jim suggested Tunnel view instead. I drove up from Oakhurst that morning and arrived just at the very beginning of a very pleasant sunrise. This was done on my lap top here in the hotel room so all bets are off. I just wanted to throw out a huge thank you to Jim and the others who helped me have a great day in a beautiful place. Cant wait to get these home on my good computer and dig in. The rookie got a lucky display for his first time in.

Hey Ron,

Wow... That is one crazy cool sunrise! Now I wish I had been there too. I am sure you will tweak this when you get back home, but for a quicky laptop edit it sure looks pretty good, and shows the potential be a show stopper.

You sure nailed it on your first trip there. I am glad I could help out, I know how hard it can be even with research to walk into a new location blind for the first time. Hopefully you enjoyed yourself and will make some future plans to come back again but for a few more days next time. If you can plan it, the first week in May is almost always a great time with the Dogwoods blooming and the waterfalls in full swing.

Great job. I've been to Yosemite a ton of times and I've seen a few great sunsets at Tunnel View but none of them have had as much color as this one. Excellent work!
