These images were taken several years ago, with a Nikon D800 camera and the Nikkor 45mm PC-E lens. The first image shows a super moon rising over Mount Shuksan. The second image shows a moon lit Mount Baker. Both images were taken the same evening near Artist's Point in Washington State.

Alice Thibodeaux in Natchez, MS.

I was walking around Natchez with the 24mm PC-E and this beauty asked for me to take her photo.

Keith,

The second picture is exceptional and worthy of a large print and frame. I cannot tell from the image you posted but personally I would do some dodging of the tree in the lower left quadrant of the frame. Worth a try to see how it affects the overall picture. As Ansel Adams famously stated, "you don't take a photograph, you make it".

I used that second image for the front cover of a 2018 calendar, and did exactly what you suggested. A very slight adjustment to the trees in the lower left portion of the image did make the image stronger, in my opinion. Thanks for passing along your thoughts on this image!

One of the reasons I love my 24mm PC-E is the sun star:

While it is nice to have perpendicular lines when shooting buildings, what excites me about these lenses is how they can magically create otherworldly impressions by how they manage the focal plane. Lightsearcher gets into the game with some of his photos above. I was first introduced to the magic by Anton, who lives in Norway but takes his lenses around the world. His work showed up from time to time on the Manual Focus Nikon Glass thread but I haven't seen any lately. It is always a delight to see folks using these lenses creatively.

I recently got a 35/2.8 PC and have used it on my Z6 via the FTZ adapter.
