this whole winter has been tough to come by some good light

if the sun does come out then its usually freezing cold

(figured i would try something with the fading i seen someone else do here some time ago)

but after three weeks of freezing temps today is warming up and it seems like there may be light at the end of the tunnel to warmer skies and decent light

Well done Brian. The first three don't really work for me - but that's OK - they are your's. 5 looks like it is approaching being over sharpened to me, but I'll wait to see if others agree. The 4 and 6 stand out ~ Ron

Always nice to see something different tried.
Not sure how you would frame them, but I like the personal close-up view feel of the first few. However, the last has the most appeal with this weather this winter!!

Brian your last shot does wonders for the winter worn psyche...I love playing around with different processing and even artsy plug-ins so I really appreciate your first three...and the third of those would be my favorite maybe because you didn't fade it as much...it just suits my eye better I guess. Hopefully the winter freeze will become a thaw quickly and we can get some life back into our northern climes....tfs.

5 and 6 are lovely. The light in 6 is exquisite. Well done. Maybe Ron needs to ditch his low resolution monitor since the detail in 5 appears quite good to me without being over sharpened.

All are great shots! I think the fading detracts from these beautiful shots. Maybe if they were on a different background it could work better but I think I'd like them better without fading. The grosbeak and the gray jay are the two that really standout - 2 absolutely gorgeous shots!!

Thanks everyone, i was reluctant to post these, i agree on the first 2 the fading was overhanded, i also destroyed the owl shot cause of the way i went about it then resizing it destroyed the detail compared to the original shot

the 3rd i was more happy with till i saw it posted here, i then saw a hard edge on the right hand side, dayum it

well, i was bored, that was my one and only adventure down that road

I really like your presentation of the first couple and the rich dark colors of the last and applaud you for keeping the last wide. Well done Brian!

Thank You
all i did was save a screen shot of the forum here, then select the gray bg from the screen shot in photoshop then use it to fade the edges of the pics in photoshop

Love to see attempts at doing something a bit different. Of the first 3, the third is my pick .
Love the last 2.
