Thanks for the comment, Corey. I suspect I'm the one enjoying the learning here. Disaster's been very kind in welcoming the conversation. It's been an interesting case study and very useful to me.

I'm not sure how to answer your question as only my last three were numbered and I'm not sure where you started counting.

Disaster was going for an over-exposed, high key look so he and I have both been playing around with that. We're into subtleties greatly dependent upon monitor quality and calibration so it's kinda like baying at the moon in trying to communicate about the nuances.

Similarly, his color versions of his second shot have a slight magenta cast to her skin tone on my monitor in Google Chrome but what I'm seeing isn't objectionable, really, just a little too red for my tastes. But I don't know if that's what he's seeing on his monitor as well. Again, at this point it becomes more and more uncertain who's seeing what.

The thread has sort of run its course but we're deep enough into the conversation that sometime later I'm going to post a bw levels chart I borrowed from another FMer and my edits 1, 2, 3 again (and a super high key 0) along with their corresponding LR screen shots with (J key) clipping shown for the fun of it to see if it enhances communication. We'll see.

In the mean time I'm looking forward to seeing Disaster's shots from today whenever he's ready to share.

You are learning a lot from nolaguy is it my monitor, or are 2,3,4, 6,7,8 very over exposed? I like your lighting of #2, Her hair over her eye is distracting to me.

Yes, as Chuck said, these were meant to have that high key look. Chuck is correct, it is a little red on my calibrated monitor as well. That was part of the glamour look I was going for but perhaps it is too much.

Anyway, like Chuck said, this thread has run it's course so I'll start a new one with the next photos.
