Thanks Alan.
I did a handheld pan using a slow shutter speed of 1/60th, at ISO1000 it exposed to the right.
In post with LR added some sharpening and a little contrast.
I took several shots of birds over the water to get the settings and get the panning practice, thankfully I was using the lightweight Canon 400mm f5.6 on a 1D4 which is perfect for this.
