Greetings,
Harsha and I tripped up to northern Minnesota this last weekend to find some owls. We struck-out in finding any Great Gray Owls, but that gives us another excuse to travel there at another time.
We did photograph Northern Hawk Owls and some other interesting birds like the Boreal Chickadee, etc.
The operating temperatures of my Canon bodies are rated for temperature ranges of 32 to 104 degrees F. Under the circumstances, with the air temps dipping to -23 degrees F and a wind factor of -45 degrees F, the 5D Mark III and 1D Mark IV functioned quite well. The motor of the 500mm L did need a little " jump start " once in awhile.
Oh well, here are a couple of photos of a super fast owl, the other critters will be posted in the next couple of days
Good light and warm temperatures to all,
Larry
