This is from a trip to Joshua Tree in January. As twilight approached the treasure of this scene appeared. I didn't really do anything special when processing, but as I peeled away the layers of the Raw image this scene began to materialize. It's a bit more colorful than I might normally do, but I liked the final result.

All comments are welcome.

Beautiful colors and well-chosen subjects, Jim. The wide angle stretching of the clouds in the upper right works well to give depth and direct the eye, but not so much for the top of the juniper (oops or it is a pinon?). At any rate, it sure brings back fond memories of JTree.

Nice one. I've been fascinated with more twilight light these days than peak sunset light. This is really nice.

This area looks great from many directions. The soft light really brings out the rocks nicely.
Hope mine turn out half as nice.

Hey Dave,

Glad you liked it. I don't believe there is really any stretching being done to the tree, it's just the angle it is at. Glad it brought back fond memories.

Thanks Jason, there is a lot to be said for twilight light. I have a few twilight shots where the stars can be seen starting to poke through and that seems pretty cool too.

Hey Jeffrey, it was a very relaxing time out there. The quiet solitude with the scent of campfires really makes for an enjoyable time. Glad you liked this.

Great shot Jim, love the textures in the foreground rocks and the color ain't bad either. Been many years since i've been there, would love to go back.

I like the placement of clouds on top right. Composition and blue hour colors are positives.

Really nice shot Jim. I like the X factor here.

The only thing I'm not quite as fond of is the purple sky. I'd be tempted to tweak its hue a lit more.
