Impressive work Herb, and even more so considering you're shooting through a glass door! I like the male cardinal and goldfinch. Thanks for sharing these!

Wish I could get as good a result with the door in between me and the subject! Nice set Herb!

Great collection for a "thru the window" shooting. All are wonderful images to me.

Thanks for the full disclosure about shooting through the bedroom window, because the IQ is good enough that I never would have thought they were shot thru a window.

Lots of good ones here Herb... #1 is terrific, great color/contrast... #5 Reds which are tough to handle, look good... 7 & 10 are my other faves... well done.

I forgot to mention in my comment that I liked the tip of shooting at a 45degree angle t avoid the glare and reflection....

Man Herb...you got some great glass....windows! It does go to show just how diverse the bird life in our own backyard can be and with a little bit of observation no telling what we'll see. I actually find having the same perch for all these really interesting....I wonder if your Coopers does as well
Eric

I believe he does like having the same perch as well, although he has his own perch, of course a stronger one than the little guys' perches. The Cooper's hawk was on top of this perch when I captured the head shots from a few weeks ago. Thanks Eric.

This is a wonderful set Herb.

For this type of bed room work I suggest you turn off the lights! This will help with the reflections just like working from an angel. Also wearing dark solid colors helps.

These are great. I've been setting up outside a kitchen window but I've got a lot more branches to contend with because it is an actual bush.

You have a great series Herb with great light and details. it's amazing the quality that can be achieved shooting through "extra" glass.

Well pilgrim ....get a couple more perches. It's not like you don't have trees all around your house

2, 6 & 10 are my my picks because of the IQ and their poses.

Ted

Thanks Ted. As you can see I took your advice. I hacked a small cedar branch off yesterday and traded it for the fat perch seen in the pics here.

Amazingly good, and through a glass window no less. The male Cardinal stands out for me, but that wonderful shot of the Chickadee is my absolute favorite. That one really stands out. You are certainly making the most of your opportunities.

Thanks for the picks

What a great variety of subjects. IQ looks really good despite the extra lens element you added. Hard to pick a favourite as they are all top notch.

These are terrific shots. Out of curiosity, do you prefocus on your perches to help compensate for the extra glass?
Thanks,
Mike

I do pre focus on the perches, but for other reasons. For acquiring focus faster as the perch is only used for a second or two before they leave it.
