An image of a small cascade along Pendleton Creek in Blackwater Falls State Park, West Virginia. Getting down to this stream was downright dangerous. My heart was pounding at the thought of simply climbing back up the ravine. Don't think I'll head down here again for some time At least there was this little cascade as a reward!

"Risk and Reward" - Canon 7D, Canon 10-22 @ 10mm. 1.3 seconds, f/13, ISO 100. Polarizer.

Hey Chris,

That is very nice indeed, and sure seems to have been worth the risk. What's bad are the times we climb down some dangerous ravine to only find once we are down there that there is nothing worthwhile to shoot. I really like this little cascade you found.

Beautiful shot. Easy for me to say your work was "worth it" but I didn't have to risk anything!

Nice scene and shot Chris. If you took the trail that starts near Pendleton Point, I know it well and it is quite the workout.

Neat image Chris!

I've seen other photos of this location and every person mentions the PIA for getting down into there. Would climbing ropes help much?

Hopefully there wasn't any poison oak or ivy, like there is in some gorge locations. That just makes things 10x more difficult.
