Hello there,

here you see the "Pasterzengletscher" in Hohe Tauern, Austria.

Johannisberg Glacier

The Pasterze glacier in Hohe Tauern National Park with impressive cloud formations illuminated by sunset light. On the left side is the Grossglockner (3798m), in the background the completely snow-covered Johannisberg (3460m).

What do you think? Any thoughts, comments & critique welcome

Quite a grand view and really enjoyable to look at. I do feel that the bottom half of the image isn't adding quite as much, and might consider a 4x5 crop taking some off the bottom. The luminosity of Johannisberg is a bit bright, too, for me. I know it is snow covered but it just seems like the blend is a little rough, and there is a bit of a halo. I would darken that bit just a smidge and then it would look fine. The color in the clouds looks really nice. I like the way the lit clouds contrast with the blue ones in shadow off to the left. Overall, a nice one to look at that could use a bit more finesse in the blend.

Wonderful sky color and exposure balance with the Glacier. Not much ice though. Looks like the glacier is dying.

this is a great shot. really liked the color of the light and the leading line of the glacier run off

It's a beautiful picture, and a sad view at the same time.
Alas, glaciers around the world are melting.
Love the composition and exposure. Processing is a bit too sharp around edges.

I updated the image and corrected the halo issue, darkened the central mountain and decreased the web-sized sharpness a bit. Thanks for your suggestions!

What a cool shot here, I like the flow of this one. It's sad though to see the difference in the glacier in 50 years.
