I really like your conversion. I might be tempted to crop it square.

What a neat shot Gregg! I'm curious to know if you defocused the sky in PP? It looks a bit unnatural IMO to have such a distant object sharp and the background blurred. I do love the tone treatement you did on this one though. The blue cast looks quite nice...

Yes Gary, I did blur the sky a bit, not a lot but I did it. It's clear to see .
I wanted to emphasize the mountain so I blurted the sky. It didn't have colors (this wasn't a sunset/sunrise shot) so I on purpose made it secondary, or irrelevant.

very dramatic!

(the DNR effect waxy sky looks a bit weird though, I'd love to see it without artificial processing on the sky)

I suppose PC-E lens effects look very realistic.

Hey Greg,

A pretty cool shot here. I like your choice on how you processed the the B&W on this, that looks pretty cool. I could see going for a little less blur in the sky, but the more I looked at the shot, the more it seemed okay here.

Nice one.

Jim

But Jim I was very close to the mountain and far from the sky so it just came out like this on its own

It looks to me like one of those Hollywood backdrops that they used to paint for the background to the main theme. I'm half expecting a small train to come out from somewhere and surprise me like a child's animation film.

Sorry Greg... but it just looks so weird and unnatural to me.

Oh, come on Turner. You must've liked something about this shot since you took time to write your reply, otherwise you would just ignore it.

Sorry you feel that way Greg, but I feel your response is somewhat arrogant. I wouldn't dream of responding to a post the way you have just done. But you are right.. my last name is Turner but most people would call me by my first name and not take your attitude.

I think the idea of this forum Greg is that folk are allowed to post their views on the images that are posted. I don't see much in this particular image of yours and therefore I made my opinion known. I certainly don't think I was nasty or out of order in what I posted.

I'm sorry that my opinion doesn't fit yours.

Nigel... btw.. aka Turner.

It was a joke, nothing else Niguel. And I just copy and paste your name...didn't noticed your first name didn't get attached. I meant no disrespect.

Greg, this shot is so cool. I love how unique and out of the box it is. Looks like a model or something. I like the effect. Great job!

Thanks Mark.
That was the idea to emphasize the mountain and snow. I might have blur the sky little bit too much but I'm not gonna change it now

It just looks like it has really shallow depth of field, which, at least for me is really creative and works here.
