Thanks, to all of you! Chris, Dean, and nikons, I know what you mean about the Tuscarora Falls shot. I think the different stages of the falls, and the leaves and log in the foreground and brighter leaves in back, created kind of a "tunnel" effect that leads the eye on a path that feels progressively deeper. That's my theory, anyhow.
Mountws1, it probably more like 5 hours from the DC area, maybe a bit more. I think it is close to 5 hours from my house in Virginia to the Wilkes-Barre area, and then you have close to an hour on secondary roads before reaching the park. It is definitely an overnight trip and you'll want to be there in the morning. There is nice (though civilized) camping in the park, and there is at least one restaurant/motel on the main road that is cheap but good; otherwise you would need to stay in the city and get up early.
Ed and Mike, I can't take full credit for shooting Wyandot front he other side. When I got there, there was another photographer shooting the swirl, so I added that to my locations to take a look at, and it was good.
