These were taken on October 2, before the color change at Ricketts Glen really got going. Still, most falls had a few trees around that were turning distinctly yellow, and the overcast morning light was good. Unfortunately the water flow was on the down side. Here is a first set.

Two views of Harrison Wright. (I left the person in the second one for scale, but I could ask him to leave.) Do you prefer one over the other?

Hello Dave, You captured the Ricketts Glen waterfalls wonderfully. Perhaps due to some transition of the color to the fall season, the images have more diverse color spectrum. My favorite is the third image. Again.. is this a single shot or pano? As to your question of person in or not, it would not matter to me. Either way.

Thanks, Kee. Except for the first one, these are all panoramas. Thanks for you opinion on the Harrison Wright alternative. I couldn't make up my mind at the time, and I still can't.

Dave:

These are very nicely done. I like the amount of fall color, and I actually like the amount of water. I've seen some shots of this area when the water level is high, and I think it looks better with the conditions you had. There's more detail in the water that you've captured well here. Got to get back there--perhaps this spring.

Hey Dave,

Some very nice shots here. #1 and 3 are my favorites of the group. As for the person in #4, I would have cloned him out, he is a distraction to me, especially where he is standing.

Thank, Dave Keith and Jim. Interesting point about the low water; I hadn't considered it a blessing. I have never been to Ricketts Glen with high water, so perhaps I'm not appreciating the advantage of lower water. Jim, if the second Harrison Wright view turns out to be preferred, I'll surely clone out the guy.

A beautiful set of images here, even if the color wasn't peak yet. It's too bad the water levels were so low, but you made the best of it. I really like your processing - nice and natural but also very crisp and the sharpening is well handled, too. The first is my favorite!

Thank you, Sunny and Chris. I appreciate the feedback on the processing. It is sometimes hard to find that sweet spot that enhances the impact and artistic value of the image, without taking it into the realm of unnaturalness.
