Lots of 7D Mk 2s are arriving today and people are excited to get out and start finding what they can really do.

Post your images and if possible, SOC images including shooting data for others to see.

Please, many want to know of function and operations as well. Report likes/dislikes, glitches, surprises, issues and opinions. Things like focus accuracy, focus speed, exposure accuracy, etc. . .

Thanks to all in advance and looking forward to a well rounded group of opinions.

If you live in New York, could you pleeeze go to the Javits Center tomorrow and take a high iso photo of the new 46 meg. pixel 1DSX with a 400/5.6 lens?

First impressions... build quality feels much more like the 5D3 than the 6D although the controls are a bit of a hybrid of the two. The shutter is insane, for those of us who have never had anything faster than 6FPS, 10 is nutty. And by nutty, I mean I suspect it's probably overkill for even a running cheetah (although I shot that action sequence at 4.5FPS with a 6D and there was a lot of ground covered between those photos!), and a really quick way to generate 25 nearly identical photos.

The 24-70 came in a retail box separately which was interesting and a nice touch compared to the white box special of the integrated 18-135 which is coming next.

I am very excited to do some test photos, it is MONSOON season in Vancouver right now so unfortunately nothing until at least the weekend.

I was there today but i couldn't stand back far enough to get all those 46MP in one shot. Going back tomorrow with fisheye

Seriously though-lots of 7dii's for sale all around the show and it was being used for shooting models on the Canon Stage

This is what I have:

Lightroom_5_LS11_win_5_6

and it does not recognize the 7D2 raw files

I just checked for updates and it said mine is up-to-date

Hoping for an update or a beta version.

It normally takes a few weeks/months for Adobe to update Camera Raw and LR for new bodies and lenses (and one day I suspect they'll stop doing so altogether unless you sign up for their stupid subscription scheme).

Canon DPP4 version 4.1 is supposed to support/open 7DII files.

Adobe Camera Raw is usually updated a little sooner than Lightroom.

Adobe Raw Release Candidate 8.7 is out for testing. It was announced on October 3 with support for the Nikon D750. As far as I can tell the D750 was announced on September 15, so that is only about 2 weeks.

Interesting fact 1:

25 shots before slowing with my slow sd 35mb/s sd card. And 11 seconds to clear. Vs my 5diii stopping at 9 with 15s to clear.

31 shots to lexar 1000 cf with < 4s to clear when full. vs about 25/5 on 5diii.

The buffer is definitely bigger and clears much faster to the sd card. This is great. Now I can actually use my sd card when my cf card is full.

processed in dpp default at tiff 16 and uploaded to aperture which applied some sharpening but no noise reduction, and then converted to original size jpgs. Both with 70-200 f2.8 at f2.8.

Shot a high school football game tonight with mine and it is crazy accurate and quick on focus. Will look at pics tomorrow and put some up but from what I saw on screen could not be happier.

DPReview has an ACR 8.7 beta that mostly supports the 7D2. Really high ISOs still not supported in their beta copy.
