Rather than try to add this one to my other thread that I completely mucked up, I figured I'd give this one it's own thread. This is the same scene as the last image but shot with a completely different lens and different settings (200mm 2.0L @ F-2.0 here). This is again a panorama of several images stitched together. Totally different feel than the other image even though it's the same trees!

Lisa, I really like this one.
The lone pine in this one stands out in a good way. I think the pines in the others were a distraction.

I really like the contrast and color in this one. I have admired your work in the "People" forums, and look forward to seeing more Landscape images from you. One note on this one, the foreground seems a bit blurred at the bottom.
Beautiful image. Thanks for sharing this.

Thank you - the foreground is blurred a bit. I shot this one at F-2.0.

"The elephant in the room" works very nicely here. Good to see you posting in the landscape forum as well.

Lisa, I think you have a good future in landscape photography!

Love the feel of this, the lone evergreen, "crashing" the party.

Nicely seen & captured.

Thanks for posting

Dan

f 2.0 compresses the depth of field nicely and I think makes for a great image. Had I been there I'm sure I would have used a smaller aperture and not had as successful an image as a result. As a painter I've always thought about how we all see things - focusing on one area at a time (the important area) and I think this fact helps to make for a great image here. The out of focus foreground and background really works nicely here.

I love aspens and the "loner" really adds to the depth and scale of the composition.
I found something similiar here with a lone blazing red maple amoung a vast forest of evergreens reflecting off a lake.
You have inspired me to post it!
Thanks!
Great job!

You'd be surprised how the slightest offset in angle, framing, and perspective does to the composition.

The sentinel huh? Nicely done.

Hey Lisa,

What a cool fall color shot. Those aspen sure look nice, and good job with keeping the Sentinel in this.

Nice work of a nice scene, Lisa. Then pine is fine. I think if there were a crop of the bare trees off the left, the image would be stronger, and the main elements would be placed better within the image.

Noting that you're from AZ, I'm guessing you're on the Rim. Looks familiar but hard to say. I like it and I have lots of aspen pix in my library. If you wouldn't mind taking a minute, would you please share how many images you made and how you merged/joined them. I'm working on some Sonoran vistas that just don't make it with a UWA and would love a new technique.

I'm never over at people (how boring but if you handle them as well as this and you live in a city where people will pay for your work, I'd guess you're doing well.

Nice,

Robert

Hi Lisa,

Beautifully done. The colorful aspens and contrasting pine tree make a dazzling combination.
