Does anyone has any personal experience with using Sigma 50-500 (stabilized version) on A7/A7r? If so, how was it and if you could please share some pictures from it that would be great.

I recently picked up A7 (plus LA-AE4 adapter), after being disappointed with tele offering from Fuji and would like to try out Sigma for upcoming hunting trip.

No experience here. Personally, I am waiting for the upcoming Oly 300mm f/4 for u4/3. I dont see the advantage of a 50-500mm Sigma on mirrorless. Might as well just put it on a DSLR?

Since no one had any experience with it. I ended up ordering it myself and received it today. Here are some quick test shots of a cat stealing muffins from bird feeder.

I haven't used it enough to make a conclusion as I received the lens today but so far I've found AF to be quite good. At the extreme tele I've noticed it getting confused when both the subject and background are of similar color, but the could just be A7 and not the lens itself.

After the return from my trip, here are some pictures that I would like to share. All taken with A7 + BigmaOS. I'm really impressed with the quality of the lens would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a super zoom.

I just bought a Canon refurb 100 - 400 L and was wondering if any have made a Sigma 50 - 500 comparison ?? AF speed, IQ, weight, size, etc ..
I shoot Canon 5d and 5d MK 2.
The pics above look good on my 5s phone .. LoL ..

All shots were taken handheld either from a truck or deer blind.

isnt that A mount version does not have OS and is supposed to rely on SSS of A mount bodies?

Usually most A-mount lenses do not have OS but this one does and that's what make it special compared to others in the similar focal length.
