What's up guys. I mostly just hang around here and view threads. This is one of my first portrait attempts. I have done a few others but they were quite a long time ago. I have also done some recent sessions with my son, but haven't shown those yet. I was hoping to get some feedback on these to help fix some things in the future. I will also critique these images from what I noticed that I can change as well. One major thing that I have already noticed is that a lot of the images are the same, same pose, location etc. Thanks for your help!

1. I was wondering if the amount of tilt works, or if it is more of a distraction. Also I think I should have panned down. The crop of where the shorts end is poor.

2. I don't like the position of her feet.

3.

4. Something about the tones in her face. I think I should have brightened her face

5. The hand!!!

6.

Hi! I'm no professional, so take my words with a grain of salt
The breast seems to bother me a bit, how it sticks out in 1-4. Could be just me, but it looks a bit off.
Face seems to be slightly overexposed in 1&3. Could be that my screen just isn't calibrated properly.
But in my eyes, it's a nice set

Agreed.

#3 and #4 are better than #1 and #2

You seem to be very keen on the small details of posing and crops, by my question to you is why you are shooting a sporty model in fitness clothing in the middle of a vineyard? While I'm sure there could be some plausible explanation, unless her workout regimen is running up and down the vineyard rows, I feel there's a disconnect of what you're trying to convey with these photos. The environment just doesn't seem conducive to working out.

I say this because I know that *I* frequently get so caught up in the "photography" part of a photoshoot that I forget I'm also responsible for the other parts as well, and that those are often more important.

Thank you. I am no professional either, so everything helps. I didn't notice the breast thing until I got home with the shots. I guess that's all part of learning. She was wearing a real tight bra because we did some shots in her clipper girl gear right after this, and I guess that was what she needed to wear for that outfit. I do tend to over expose shots so you are probably right. I like bright images, but I will try to reel myself back in. Thank you for your help

We went out to take pictures for her parents to print out because this might be her last year as a clipper girl. I didn't have much time and I took her to 4 areas around my house that had a descent background. The reason she liked this one was because no one was around to watch, and she was embarrassed to be taking pictures in her clipper gear. As it was we had people honking that drove by, but that is no excuse. I totally agree with you and the pictures never really looked right to me. Hopefully we would have more time and a better location next time.

How tall is this girl? You're not doing her many favors by shooting down at her.

She's also squinting very hard in a few - might help to take the shots nearer to sunset.

The white sky stands out for me when I view these shots. Looks at #2 or #3, for example. Now scroll your screen so that the white sky disappears (poor man's cropping tool). Better? I think so. Compose so you don't get the blown out sky in the first place.

IMO, you don't have a breast problem. They don't have to be covered up. If she dresses that way and is comfortable with that, then there should be no issue.

These are pretty nice.

The squished boob definitely sticks out to me.

The one thing I don't quite get is she's clearly into fitness, or at least that's what her attire and fun/spunky attitude show in the images, but she's in a vineyard. I'm not too sure what that's about.

Nice set of images. If I were you I would have avoided the white sky and the big wooden pillars in 1, 2 & 3.

Yeah, she's pretty short maybe bottom of the 5' area. I timed it wrong. These that I posted were done about 30-45min before sunset. The pictures of her in the clipper uniform (not shown) are right at sunset.

Thanks. I notice a lot of people prefer the toned down (not blown out) picture style. I will need to find a happy medium for me.

Thank you. Yes it sticks out to me as well. I might go back and do some PS work on the one that isn't pushing out as much. I wish I would have taken a closer look when I was taking the pictures and asked her to fix it. The vineyard story (I wrote a bit about above) but she was looking or somewhere with a nice background and no one around to watch because she would be changing into her clipper uniform.

Thank you. I was thinking about cropping down so I could get rid of the pillars in a few.
