p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · Family session with variety of light setups.

I did a family session yesterday with a family where everyone really wanted to have their photos taken. For some of the shots, I set up white seamless paper in the garage, and used a beauty dish for a little extra light in the eyes. For others I put them in the garden with a big octo-softbox adding the extra light. Some were just natural light as we followed the kids around the yard. Had a lot of fun and the kids were very cute.
I would love to know what you think. How did I do? Any C&C would be appreciated.
Thanks

Good work.

#1 doesn't have the eyes popping like the others, but it's a great pose and expression.
#2 is my pic of the set. Love it.
#3 & #4. Good shots, good expressions. A bit of 'shine' in each.
#5 Good, but a forced smile. I think the pose could be better, since one arm is hiding behind her.

#1 Focus was missed and/or the shutter was too short and there's motion blur.

#2 Best of the bunch but focus and/or motion issues here as well.

#3 Focus is on shirt it seems and not the baby's face.

#4 Too much contrast for a head shot. Needs fill light or bounce. Fill light needs to be diffused.

Thanks for the feedback Diavolo. I tried some new things with this shoot and it's nice to know what would have made these better.
