p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · Some recent snapshots of my wife.

Three shots, all more or less impromptu, of the woman who has been putting up with me for over a decade.

1. Amanda's hair looked particularly good one Saturday morning a few weeks ago, having a leisurely breakfast.

2. This was at a highway rest-stop.

3. I've taken literally hundreds of photos of my wife at restaurant tables over the years.

Anyway, I thought I'd share. Your thoughts, comments, questions, concerns, diatribes, and so on are of course always welcome.

Evan - I really like the casualness of these. Her personality really shines through. The last one, for me, is the best. It really tells Amanda's story. Her smile and the sparkle in her eyes plus great hands are all working. The square format is a plus in these and the black in white is beautiful.

I like them all Evan though I am biased to B&W.

I really like the last one a lot. I missed wrote it being your wife's friend in the other thread. I just washed my hands today and I can't do a thing with them. Real portraits are always my favorites when some of the person comes shining through and these are shinning bright. Maybe display as a triptych?

I like them all. It's a tie between #2 and #3. You are a lucky man to have someone look at you the way she looks at you in #2. I think she kinda likes you!

I just LOVE 2. The expression along with the colors are wonderful.

Thank you very much all! I am indeed a lucky man to find an amazing lady with such awful taste in men.

BTW, tech details for those so inclined: 1 & 3 were shot on the Hassie, first with the 150 sonnar, third with the 80 planar. The first one on FP4+, unfiltered. The last was on HP5+, with a yellow/green filter. The color shot was on an M6 with a ZM50 planar, Portra 160, cropped.

Evan - This is a perfect example of where film is a great choice. Particularly in the last image, the tonality just screams of film. I see of lot of film images these days that are made just for the sake of shooting film, but without regard to the quality or mood of the image - maybe kind of a hipster thing, but these have a certain something that would probably be missing if you had shot digital and converted to black and white.

+ 1

Charming set, Evan - she is such a lovely girl. Her eyes, smile and your captures make one want to have coffee with you two and hear all she has to say.

And I agree with your sentiments about the weight of Peter's words.
