Since the road is the dominating part of the foreground, it would have great if it had led to a peak, or the sun. The blown out area of around the sun looks natural, but having a bit more detail would have been great. Did you bracket?

Hi Tim,

I didn't bracket for the shot. I did tune down the exposure in the PP. It might be possible to get the road as the leading line to the sunrise if I drove further down the road. Thanks for the comments.

I agree, the ground layer is too dark. Use a layer mask on the ground layer and bring out more detail there. But from what I can make out, I am not sure how effective that road will be, as there is a swing out for a sidewalk I guess part way down it. For me when I do road shots, composing the shot at a part of the road where there are no pullouts, or turnouts is pretty important.
