Hi everyone, I thought I`d introduce myself to the People forum. My name is Charles and I spend most of my time on the N&W boards. 7 months ago I became a father and everything has changed for the better!

Here she is, Catherine, my 7 month old and new favorite subject

Congrats on becoming a father and you've certainly got a beautiful little girl!

These are great images on their own but as a set, they became a tad predictable with the rule of thirds. The last one caught my eye because your daughter wasn't lined up on a vertical 1/3 line and it stood out for that reason. In that picture I might suggest dialing back the saturation and/or vibrance of her hat and also dial back the exposure on her right arm (of course, it could just be MY monitor - perhaps others will weigh in).

Having said that, these are all better than what I produce right now and I'm working to get better myself (LOOOOONG way to go). I wish I was as good as you when my (almost) 2 year old was 7 months old. It certainly would have made for more fun and pretty pictures! :-)

Ha ha - you captured just about every expression she is capable of there Charles (I was surprised to see 'New" in the title since I know your moniker well) ! Some absolute beauts !

Beautiful. I would only work to correct the color of her skin and cull it down to 2-3 since they are so similar. Nice work.

Beautiful Bubba.

Sure they are all the same a little but I would take many of her too.
I do like the way her dress and the shrub/flowers in the OOF background work well together.

Last one is beautiful.

Thank you everyone for the kind words and crits. I will work on the color correction and repost one. I have to admit I was having trouble with the hat in the last shot. I turned down the saturation by 50% already. The 5D3 certainly overcooks red / pinks like crazy!

Regarding the color of her skin, what's wrong exaclty? WB?

Your daughter is adorable. I like 10 best, but the color of her lips is too blue... almost as if she were dead or oxygen-deprived. I would warm that up a little bit. Otherwise, these are beautiful.

yes, cute daughter but check the "levels" and "curves" sliders for color balance

love the pictures, beautiful daughter. Some gentle crit as others have mentioned:

If you can nail your white balance down better before processing them then they will end up better color wise. right now images are very cool which in turns gives off that not alive look in some cases.

last image is lovely but again the WB is off since you are getting a green/yellow cast from the grass onto her face. see if you can adjust the white balance to add more magenta to balance out the green and possibly warm it up just a hair to play around with magenta WB balance.
