p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · First Telephoto Lens

I just received my first telephoto lens that I purchased from fellow user matoqui. It's a Tamron 70-300mm F/4-5.6 Di VC for Nikon mount (used here with a D600). I unboxed it and took some quick snaps of my family members. This is also my first time using Lightroom for processing. After the annoucment that Aperture won't be developed anymore, I'm testing the waters with Adobe. I hope you enjoy.

Some nice shots, but I don't know why you would post process them this way. There are no blacks in any of these. Why not take advantage of the full range of tones from black to white? I guess it's a matter of personal taste (assuming you did this on purpose), but low contrast images like this look to me like they are in desperate need of some adjustment. When I want to download an image like this and open it up in Photoshop so that I can see what it looks like "fixed," then I feel there is a problem. At least for me.
