My 81 year old grandmother was up visiting from Georgia this weekend and for her birthday I decided to give her a LARGE print of her and her great-grandsons. Going to have this image shipped to her as a 20x20 canvas. She is thrilled!

Just a reminder for everyone that portraits can make such a meaningful gift, especially for family members we can't see often enough...

I know we all ohhhh and ahhhh of clever shots made by photographers. But this is really what's it's all about. I think this shot will be universally treasured by all family members for multiple generations.

Lots of compliments on this shot. Did anyone else notice the reflection on the glasses?

Still a nice shot - the happiness isn't taken away by the reflection, but it's always worthwhile "chimping" to check for things like the glare and perhaps a eye blink.

Yes, I know about the reflection. Not much I could do with the reflection in her glasses, using natural light. I did tone it down a bit in post, but couldn't eliminate entirely.

Don't waste time worrying about the reflection at this point. The image is indeed an heirloom and your entire family will love it and not think twice about the reflection.

I have lots of family pictures on the walls of our house, and I used to have a minor technicality that bugged me on each one. I've tried to drop that photographer habit and instead focus on the emotions that the images makes me feel.
