My first visit to South Carolina and I've already seen so many things I've never seen before. Here is a quick sampler of some of the wildlife.

5 Juvenile Yellow crowned night heron...big crop (I originally thought it was a bittern but corrected by Tim Foltz...thanks)

Great set Eric, The butterfly is eye popping and the tricolor IF's are awesome,
but I think your bittern is a juvenile Yellow-crowned Night Heron

That one is a stunner from the subject to the comp!!! Nice work on the long legged guys and congrats on all the new species, nothing sparks interest like new species!! Keep it up and keep them coming!

Thanks the herons are all over so they are easy pickings....the butterfly was a lucky find.

I spent 3 hours on the kayak and the butt was right outside my cottage as I was coming back...funny how those things happen. I had seen 1 tricolor before coming here...now I've seen hundreds.
