I love these Mexican Sunflowers. I was so hoping that the hummers would like them. I was out yesterday, lighting not great , but the lady ruby throat seemed to find and enjoy the flower. Sat all out all day today waiting for her to hit them again as the light was so much better , but sadly no. The bee, however, had a grand time on them.

Your nits , crits, comments and suggestions are greatly appreciated.

P.S. If you check the exif and are wondering about the high shutter speeds on the hummer, I was not prepared for her.
I had been shooting some bees in shade and shadows using aperture priority ( I normally shoot manual ) and then she just popped in. I was so excited and she was so quick , I just left it in aperture priority and shot.

Oh, Roberta. These are excellent. Lovely tail feathers in the first. Great capture of the bee in the third. Such beautiful colors. Wonderful captures.

Love the hummingbirds, Birdie.
Very good that you went for it. The high iso seems no problem for the D800.

I do remember a time that you where after a good bee/hummer in flight shot.
Well, I guess I just saw the best hummer in flight shot ...... ever.

The exquisite hummer skirt on number 1 and the bees face and wing movement in number 3 are amazingly special!
