Hey Alan,

GoG is a cool place. #1 is a nice vista type scene though I wish you had gotten some of the wonderful rock structures in the ground layer on it. With #2, that's a different shot for GoG. There might be something wrong with your lens, it's odd that the left side of the shot is not in focus. Is your lens decentered? Also there is some CA visible along that left side. One last thing, #2 seems to have the shadows lifted a bit too much, I think more contrast would help that.

First one is very nice but missing something to grab attention in the foreground. Perhaps another layer at the bottom could tell us more. Second one is wonderful excels in composition, colors and interest. Slightly closer focusing and smaller aperture could made it even better

Jim,
I'm pretty sure that the left side of the image was actually outside the focal plane. If I remember correctly, it was about 10 feet from me. With other images, that lens has performed flawlessly. I will also take a look at adding some contrast and I may repost the image. Thanks!
