What could be better?

Shadow tone processing artifacts that creates a "bad skin" look on shadow side of arms and face. Example: Compare the skin on the arms and cheeks of the figure in foreground.

Thank you for the critic. This was not an easy one to get. Mid day bright California sun then step into dark shadows. Everybody was moving fast. I have been playing around with a minimal processing deal. I have a $100 "Walmart" tablet that has become my "darkroom". I have the Macbook pro etc, but.. The "bad skin" is there for sure. Not sure if my "Wally world" tablet can get it. I sort of liked the bad skin to the almost porcelain doll look on the baby in the carriage.
I am self taught and still learning so thanks for the input.
