I went to watch my niece's school dance presentation and took some pics. I'm pretty impressed with the 5d mk3's silent mode, nobody even noticed I was clicking away, albeit for my big white lens.

Wow, tremendous shots with some really incredible lighting producing dramatic effects. I'm a bit jealous of your opportunity... My daughters' studio doesn't allow photography during the recitals. (Is that even legal?!) Great photos!

good modern dance images indeed. Great lighting. The choregrapher did a fine job. Wardrobe is excellent. Very good post-processing on these images.

The title of your thread mislead me. I thought I was coming here to see pictures of a school dance (typical high school or junior high performance), not this.

Parkerer: No photography allowed during recitals? Wow. Well, they didn't allow any flash photography. When they announced that, I heard a collective groan from all of the parents, I coud barely contain my excitement.

I had no strobe on the stage. The lighting was the schools stage lighting. Thanks!
