Visited old files from my travel to Alabama Hills, Lone Pine, CA, last year.
These are Lathe Arch and Mobius Arch early in the morning.

I like #4 quite a bit. Very nice.
#5 has some amazing light on the mountains.
Most of the others lack depth of field. For example, in #1, the foreground arch on the upper left is out of focus. You might want to crank down the aperture or try focus stacking.

Yes, David. I am aware of the lack of focusing in some of the images especially. Image #4 particular.. it was taken hand-held which caused much of the OOF in the arch itself. I don't know how to do the focus stacking. I will check and see how to do ity. :-) Thanks for your comments.

Kee, #4 and 5 are quite strong. I don't thing the Lathe shot works with just a band across the top. That's why I didn't shoot Lathe when I was out there -- I couldn't find a composition I liked, even with a panorama.

4 is really nicely composed and the light is great. I don't think the focus is a big problem at this side, through the arch may be less focused when enlarged. But I think it could benefit from a little more post-reduction sharpening.

5 is conceptually really nice, and the light on the mountains is fantastic. But to really work the close stone of the arch needs to also be sharp. That may not be possible without focus stacking.

If you would like to explore focus stacking, a cheap (free) way to do that would be to try the software one of our neighbors in the DC area, Max Lyons, has developed, TuFuse and TuFuse Pro. TuFuse is a command line program, so I'd recommend "Pro" because it has a pretty good user interface. You can read about and download the Pro version at this page and it has a link to the TuFuse page with more technical detail. It also does exposure blending using fusion, which is gentler than HDR.

By the way, you were there almost exactly a year before I was. I'm working on my sunrise shots of the Sierra Crest and will post some later. But the lighting and shadow patterns are almost perfectly identical to your shots.

My thoughts exactly, the first is a great contender too, but the focus issue really ruins it for me...

Just search focus stacking in youtube...

Good luck!
Sincerely
Andrey

Except the third one everything works for me. The last would be my favorite.
