I'm a newbie so take these comments with an uneducated grain of salt...
I feel like there might be a tad more room above his head than needed. Also, I feel like the DOF is a little too thin - I can't imagine you went large aperture due to low light so I think stopping down a stop or two to get his other eye in focus as well as much of his hair would have made this image more powerful.
Otherwise, GREAT subject, love the colors and framing!

Thanks for your post! I agree, it could be cropped at the top a little. Regarding the shallow DOF, I personally just LOVE that.

I like it just the way it is....and am usually a stickler for having both eyes in focus, but with this specific pose, the DOF works for me.

Nice shot! Did you take a look at the levels? Looks like you might be able to take the contrast up a bit for a little more depth in the darks.
