Uh oh, you are going to have the saturation/processing police after you! Take him away, he is creating art! He should not be allowed to do that!

Now having said that, honestly I like the second mellower version and think Cyan could be reduced a hair more (in PS Color mode) in that one to meet my tastes.

Amazing moment. Keep them coming.

Gregg,
I actually like the deep colors on your first version but agree that saturation may be overdone.
It's an incredible image and I really like the way you compose it. My only feedback would be to recover shadow detail from the bottom of the frame (if possible)

Amazing shot - love both versions. Like Fred said, if the shadow details in the foreground can be recovered, you can add more to this already awesome image!

I'm running out of them Mark. I will need to go there again, and again, and again. There is so much beauty down there, it's not even fair.
But I will have something next year.

It's fun to read all of this. Nope, there's not masking at all. And there's no stitching either. You just imagining things now.

Just trying to help...There is a distinct black edge along the mountains. Nothing worse than printing something & going Doh, why didn't I see that.

Thanks Fred. Like I mentioned I did add a lot of saturation to create the striking effect and I succeeded I guess. On 500px I've got over 12000 views and a huge number of likes on Facebook. Funny, not a single person complained about saturation. But I do agree that peaks of mountains are overdone a bit. It's OK, I can always pull it down and reprocess my shots. This is a beauty of digital photography, isn't it?
As far as shadows recovery goes, I'm not sure if there's something there. I'll check it.
Anyway, thank you all for your comments and suggestions... This is a great place to hang around Fred.

I like it! I like to create art with photography and this is a perfect example of that! Yes, it is surreal but that is not a bad thing. If everyone exposed, processed and presented their photos with identical results it would be a very dull world.

OK since everybody is showing their shots from Patagonia I figured I'll show one too. I haven't shown one for a while now so here is one that became quite popular on 500px.
To me beauty of Patagonia has no limits, and seriously I'd spend a month there and still just scratching the surface. For this particular picture I was "hunting" some lenticular clouds (I've never seen them before live) and the place didn't disappoint me. So here is the most photogenic mountain chain of Fitz Roy mountains in El Chaltén, Patagonia, Argentina. The clouds moved over the mountains producing

Stunning shot. The first one you posted is a very powerful rendition of an amazing scene.

This is a fantastic shot Gregg. I like #1 best. Now for the nits; maybe turn the saturation on the mountains down slightly (slightly!!), and bring out a little detail in the bottom shadow if it's there. But either way, I LOVE it.

I like your second pp better than first one. The first one looks little too heavy on colors for me.

Great light and image Gregg. I would love to go to Patagonia, but most workshops are booked years in advance and I would rather not go by myself. Thanks for sharing.
