That first shot is beautiful! Can I ask what gear you use? I always get curious and like knowing what equipment people shoot with. Wonderful images, really! The compositions are remarkable.

Almost every shot in this post above was with a d800 and sigma 35 1.4 (Last model), an x100 with fixed 35 the the very first shot was a 200 mm lenses shot. The 35 and 24 though are my go to lenses when I travel. Although I have a few shots I love from the 80-200 I'm pretty certain unless someone else is carrying it for me that I'll never take it again.lol

I really appreciate that I encourage others to go. In western numbers I spent roughly $3500 USD including my flights, food , everything, and even included a few days stop in Turkey on my way home for one month of this adventure. It's a reasonably priced adventure if you ask me, and one that makes you appreciate photography and you home life.

Very nice! Off topic, but do you just walk up to someone with a gun and ask for a photo? Do you get scared to?

I have in the past in different regions of Ethiopia and other countries like the Congo when I was there where gun were all over. In this trip I would have had no issue approaching the people we met. This tribe in fact we stayed a few days with at the village so I was quite comfortable with them and in fact I had a gun in my hands on a few occasions. I've been quite lucky in my experience to gauge people properly and I don't shoot many frames typically when I travel so being conservative and patient with people will always get you more trust than shooting like a paparazzi..when people have guns they tend to dislike people that are aggressive.lol
