I really like this. The misty clouds obscuring the mountain seems to enhance the scale as compared to the tree.

Love it! The silhouette of the tree in the foreground is a really interesting anchor. Now for a completely subjective suggestion. I know the tree in the foreground is straight, but the whole comp feels as if it's leaning ever so slightly to the left. I think it's due to the fact that the down slope half of he tree is fuller than the upslope. I tested it in PS and added a .3degree clockwise rotation to it and it seems to me it anchors better in the lower left.

Lovely crop. It really gives the feeling of a giant slab of stone, and I am a sucker for mist!

A beautiful capture. Not the typical El Capitan shot one would expect. I love that the focus of the image is the silhouetted tree with El Cap in the background. The way you have the tree in the far left bottom third and the image continues towards the right really gives the photograph a sense of scale.

Gorgeous light. The inclusion of the lone tree and it's composition placement against El Cap really gives a grand scale to the scene.

Interestingly there weren't that many other photographers there that morning. We spent about two hours shooting the ever changing light over the valley and were treated to some fantastic, but very difficult conditions.

There was this one chap stood to my left trying out the Sony A7r with various Canon lenses the whole time I was there, and when the light finally quit and we started to pack up we began chatting. Turned out to be non other than Michael Frye. Very nice guy.
