Wood Ducks from a Lawn Chair in the Backyard Pond. Tonight I set up a chair next to the pond in some cattails and draped the Kwik Camo over myself and the camera. I didn't fool a Ring-Necked Duck that landed and flew off rather fast.
One Wood Duck Drake did fly in and swim around some and I was able to take the following photos.
Canon 5D III, Canon 500mm f4 II, Canon 2x Extender III.

These are great, Mike. Must be pretty cool to have this in your backyard. Any nesting yet?

Ed, thank you for your comments.
All three house are being visited by the Wood Ducks. One house is particular has a hen going in and out constantly and I suspect that one is nesting at the moment. I will have to keep monitoring the other houses.

Thank you Tam.
I am hoping for that as well. They jumped so fast last year, that by the time I got the camera ready, they were all out.
She lays one egg a day until she has a clutch size of about 12. She then incubates for around 30 days. I hope to estimate/determine when they jump.
I have a video from a few years ago when they jumped and it shows a baby riding on the Mom's back.
