Did you really lug that lens around all day inside the park? If you did, you are either committed or need to be committed!

I did!

I thought the lens as very hand-holdable and manageable. Sure, it got attention but I could care less to be honest! All the attention was actually beneficial, as the performers cared more about me than the iPhones...

The one day I lugged it around (with 2 additional lenses in my bag) for around 6-8 hours or so straight with no issues

I don't have any issue lugging gear in amusement parks, especially ones I frequent quite often. Universal has a great locker system that also fits my 400AW with the 300 in it just fine, so if I want to hop on a ride it is never an issue.

Disney practically allows you to ride most of their rides without anything you want, so never any issue there (I don't really care for Disney though, so we only go when friends give us free tickets). Other parks such as Cedar Point, Busch Gardens, etc... I will usually leave the camera in the car until we rode everything and then get pics.

the colors are very nice, well captured series. You have to be committed as the guy above said lol. I hate when people look at me with camera so I could do with out the attention.

Wow --- I love the colors and contrast; very nicely done. The 300 2.8 is one the short list of lens that I plan to purchase within the next year, or so.
