Thanks much for your suggestions. I always find suggestions useful. Leaving trees in or out on the left in the first shot wasn't a viable option for me. I did, however, crop it to a point which made the most sense to me. In the second, it was pre-dawn and there wasn't much of any color in the clear sky. I took the liberty and replaced the sky with a gradient that best represented what was present and with what I thought worked in the context of the photo.
I did do a vertical pano of the first comp. If it turns out pretty good, I'll post it later on the board. Thanks again,
