Technically they're fantastic, but you knew that. What did you do to get the expressions in 10b? DO MORE OF THAT! FWIW

You know I'm glad you caught that. I really wanted this shoot to have a very "fashiony" feel as apposed to the light, happy stuff that I'm always doing with weddings. But, I'm realizing now that it's not easy to get good "serious" expressions. I like how most of these are serious, but I think some of the expressions could be way better.

10b - came from a conversation earlier with the models (not a couple), and how her boyfriend gets jealous of her when she does this kind of stuff.. I had just posed them a little closer and told her it was a good thing her boyfriend wasn't here

Thanks! I'd be happy to share what we did as far as lighting. Pretty straight forward window light with images 1-19 with the exception of a couple of shots..

#11 was a mix of window light and a single speedlight with a Magmod grid on it to light the groom. Love those things!

12a and #13 were the only other shots in that setting that I used a flash and they were lit with a 39" Rotalux deep octa. Everything else shot down in the lobby was lit with the Octa.

I second the point of more smiling shots. After all, a wedding is supposed to be a happy time. I know it's "the way it's done" but even for fashion shoots I don't like that pouty look that all models seem to have. I can't help but think the models are in pain or something.But that's just me.

I really like this set. The lighting, the mood, and the processing. The dark jewelry is an interesting take, how did you end up lighting those?

Maybe they don't smile as much because the groom has 3 brides.

I had a video light directly over the top of the rings.. On a metal surface with some sparkly stuff if the background.
