Saturday it was 60 degrees here in Arkansas. Sunday night an ice storm came through. Made a trip up to Petit Jean State Park. I am still learning, so feel free to offer advice for improvements. Thanks for looking.

While this is an okay shot, I'm not really sure what the main subject is. Is it the stream or the rock? If it's the rock, I think there is too much brush obscuring the subject. I think maybe there's just too much brush in the image period. The color of the stream is not that appealing either (too brown).

Hey Bill,

I think you did pretty good with this one, scenes like that can be a bit tough as the film guy mentioned about the brush.

So, the processing looks pretty good, it is a nice composition, but if it was me after I tried a shot like this, which I probably would, I would then look for an area just a little clearer without all the branches hanging down into the scene. One where the waterway was a little more open to view, and the cool iced branches could frame it more on the sides or background.

Thanks so much for the comments. I didn't notice the water color, so thanks for pointing that out. We had a huge ice storm about a month ago and branches are everywhere… This recent ice storm was not as damaging, and made the woods feel like a crystal palace. I didn't really have a subject but was trying to capture the wonder of the moment, surrounded by all the ice covered trees. I really appreciate the feedback.
