p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · New Haida square ND Filters review - compared with Lee Big Stopper

Hello there,

anybody of you still waiting for the Lee Big Stopper?
Haida has released a 100x100mm (4"x4") glass filter in ND 3.0 providing the same 10 stops light reduction as the Big Stopper does.

You can read my review here:

ND Filter review

Nice review. Thanks! I wish Lenstip would do a review of their polarizer and add it to their other reviews.

thanks for the examples, it looks promising. Residual color cast is in part a function of the IR blocking filter on the sensor, so varies in wavelength & intensity for each camera type and manufacture. But true, Big stopper almost always looks blueish, but can be corrected in post.

I looked up the Haida 6 & 10 stop on Amazon. I notice that their size is a rather unconventional 83 X 95 mm, whereas most of us have filter holders for 100mm square / rectangular filters. How well does the 95mm width fit? I imagine it would wiggle in the slot quite a bit fit and may even be possible to fall out?
Do these filters come with a foam (or other blocking) surround to prevent glare from the edges of the filter? I can't tell from the Amazon pic.
