I did this mommys maternity session back in December and then finally in the beginning of Feb her little one graced everyone with her arrival. I held onto the pics since she was waiting to show them to family on birth announcements but can finally post them.

This was supposed to be my first session using my new AB400 and portable softbox but I had left my power cord at home and was super lucky that they had a huge wonderful house with more window light than I could imagine. Every room had huge floor to ceiling windows and I felt like I was natural light heaven.

I couldn't have had a more pleasing time photographing little Abby and her parents.

Natural light is the way to go on these whenever you can. You have some really nice shots here! Great job!

Fantastic set. Natural light works wonderful here. You were lucky to forget the power cord.

Thanks! I was definitely happy with the quality and amount of light available here. I dont think I could have replicated many of these with just a single B400.

thank you very much Lisa, means a lot coming from you. Lately I have been trying to fit a mixture of posed and lifestyle into all of my newborn sessions regardless of a sleepy baby or not. if the baby isnt sleepy at all in the whole 2 hours then it becomes an entire lifestyle session lol.

thank you, I used the Sigma 35 1.4 on all of these shots. Its pretty much my goto lens for newborn sessions. I was using the Sigma 50 1.4 which is great too but it just doesn't have the close minimum focus distance and sharpness that the 35 does. I am patiently awaiting for the new Sigma 50 1.4 to come out s I can sell my old one.

I would have to agree with you here, didn't feel guilty about the cord once I got home and saw the images.

Nice shots, though I think it would be more polished if the white balance was more even on the blanket shots since it seems to noticeably go from cool to warm then to cool again. Just seemed a bit jarring the difference in color temp.
