I've had a Upload and Sell membership a couple of times and have sold a number of items on here however now we are required to have 25 posts before we can even sign up.
This has a negative impact on those of us looking to sell but aren't active in the forums and if anything is going to cause a large volume of frivolous posts in the boards by people looking to reach 25 posts. I foresee lots of "that's cool" and "awesome" comments on many posts simply for the sake of reaching that 25 post minimum.
Was there no way to 'grandfather' those of us who have already had memberships and sold? And why place this restriction on accounts?
I'm in the same situation -- its very frustrating. I read the forums a lot and have used the Upload and Sell membership on and off for several years (when it was free even), but I don't have 25 posts so I can't renew my membership with expired at the end of last year.
I guess the other approach is to just blast a bunch of posts in forums to get to 25...

hehe, you're lucky Fred hasn't set the criterion at 25 "meaningful" posts.
I'm a member of another forum, and any one line response is automatically flagged and a warning issued, with subsequent infractions resulting in the member being banned.
I think Fred did this to protect us all. There have been too many newbies who are scam artists. I think that if you don't want to participate in the community,
then perhaps you should use ebay or another forum.
It's pretty blatant when someone blasts out 25 posts just to meet the requirement. There is a reseller here who had well over 400 feedbacks but recently got several negative feedbacks. He has since opened a new account and posted 25 times so he could buy and sell under his new account. I found it amusing because I had never seen him post outside of B/S forum before. If you have been around FM for a while and pay a little a attention, you'll notice a lot .

I wouldn't feel good about that though -- oh well here is another one. :-)
There are too many forums and too little time. I'm on dpreview and with an new X100S and X-T1 on Fuji X forums too...
Do appreciate this site though and the work Fred has done. The lens reviews are always one of the first places I go the next time I have some cash to spend on a lens...
I was just scammed out of $3500 by a newbie scam artist called "flasher 77". It was my fault for trusting the person in the first place. I will never make that mistake again. Luckily PayPal took care of me.
Our B&S forum is a powerful tool and a very helpful one to many photographers that need to buy and sell quickly amongst reputable members. I'm all for Fred doing what he sees needed to try to keep the influx of scammers minimized.
There seems to be a tremendous amount of work for Fred chasing these criminals too.
I'd like to see a 'tip jar' where if wanted to we could donate a token $ to support the B&S forum or support a charity or several charities
Thanks Fred for your efforts in the B&S forum, I know it's not easy and you do your darn best in our best interest
