Because there are no all-year roads through this section of the magnificent Cascades- it is not well-known except to PNWers and a few serious photographers.
But these jagged peaks are worthy of more than just a cursory visit.
First of two interpretations.

It was a bit windy where I was standing, but nowhere near as windy as the blowing snow dust from those mountains.
A fact for which I was thankful.
