A colorful twilight at the Joshua Tree National Park, California. This is a quite rare scene because the place isn't "famous" for having lots of clouds, even this time of the year....

Hey Greg,

The third one is the best in my book. While #1 and 2 have cool skies and the compositions are good, for me both of the ground areas are too lacking of contrast and the toning on the ground layer doesn't feel right.

Jim,
Those two shots are taken way after the sunset (at the so called blue hour, hopefully you're familiar with the concept) so this is the color/toning that just came out on its own. I'll be happy to shoot you an email with raws so you can show me how the ground suppose to feel like. Also, I thought I added too much contrast, especially on the second shot, how in the world this shot lacks of contrast to you is a bit beyond me. Maybe your monitor is too bright

Great job Gregg! I love the skies, especially on #2! Still haven't been to Josh (or Yosemite!). As a photographer AND climber that's practically sacrilegious!

Very nicely done. However, I see no reason for you to disfigure your fine images with an overly prominent and distracting watermark. In each image my eye is yanked to the two lines of text at the lower left, which spoils the visual appreciation of your work.

Nice imaging. I think a little color balance correction will make the earth tones so much more realistic and a better overall image.

Then I have accomplished my goal.
This is the reason I did this. Not specifically for this forum. I just happened to used them on my website, and didn't want to produce two series with and without watermarks. But thanks for letting me know where your eyes are being draw. I like that

Thanks Jeffrey, I really didn't want to change it. It is what it was. At the "Blue Hour", which ironically lasts about 20 minutes after the sun sets, (or before it rises) the colors are this blue. I like the way it is. Don't get me wrong I could easily modify ground's WB to make hues warmer but that would be cheating a little bit, wouldn't be?
I actually warmed the ground a tad, original shots are even more blue. But thanks for suggestion. I may try this at home to see how an overall image will look like. Maybe I'll like it....

I can't decide between 1 or 2, they are both very nice, but I think I lean towards 2. The white balance doesn't bother me, it reminds me of pre digital days when we had to live with the color balance of whatever film we chose.
