I only had a few minutes of horrible light for this iconic spot. But, at least I was able to finally see this spot on the coast.

Hey Greg,

You have a cool shot here but a horrible title...

I would suggest the title being the location, and then leave the other train of your thought in the post itself..

But nice work on McWay Falls. That's a place that rarely disappoints.

I SO wanted to be there with the sun going up or down or somewhere besides on top of me. But, it is a lovely spot and I will just be thankful for filters!

Jim, your suggestion is noted and title changed. You are right if course...I don't post often here and my inexperience showed with that title.

The Pineapple Express has been dumping on NorCal this week. Hence, McWay Falls should be pretty sweet over the next few days as the amount of water will be significantly higher

Hello Greg,

I think your photo of the McWay Falls seems to be the best one I have seen here in this forum.
I like the composition with "V" at the bottom and the wonderful color of the turquoise with forms.
I just wish that the actual McWay water falls had a little bit more water flow rather than faint falls.
May I ask what the EXIF is for this shot? Your shot transcends warmth and peacefulness.

OK, that is SO appreciated!!!
The sun was brutal so I used a 10 stop filter with the D800 set on f/20 and a 1.6 second exposure.
This was taken in October and things were certainly dry.
